The most memorable lessons that stick with us are usually the lessons we've experimented with. You could tell a curious kid about the dangers of touching a hot stove — but they probably won’t realize the danger of it until their curiosity brings them to try it. I know, weird analogy, but I totally agree that advice is useless until we apply that knowledge.
